Off-Road Skill Course

What are we about?

Want to learn the secrets it takes to finish the grueling Paris Dakar rally? The know how to conquer the Baja? Or just get to some lonely destination the hard way on your motorcycle? We can help! We've done all this and more and now we'll teach it to you. Just bring an open mind, a solid machine and a fresh attitude and we'll help with the rest.

Class Structure

The class that we teach is based on forming a foundation of riding skills such as braking, balance, body position, sand riding, dirt roads and much more. From teaching those with no habits to those with old habits, we have found that our classes help all levels of riders overcome fears and improve riding skills.  The drills that we teach are designed to help you learn how to control the bike with as little muscle energy as possible. Our goal is to help you control the motorcycle in a safe and efficient manner.  Another goal is to help you build a foundation of skills, so when you are faced with a difficult or uncomfortable situation you can have the confidence to tackle that situation, knowing you will succeed.

What kind of skills do we teach?

  1. Body position

  2. Balance exercises

  3. Braking

  4. Clutch and throttle control

  5. Sand riding

  6. Panic stopping

  7. Learning how to get unstuck

  8. Bike set up.

  9. Rocks

  10. Turning

and much more....

The Off-Road skills course teaches basic bike control skills without the death-defying, gravity neglecting antics of hardcore off-road riding.

It focuses on all-day riding comfort for the body and mind. I teach you the basics and then work on applying them in specifics areas like sand, mud, hills, rocks and panic situations. We have all types of riders, male and female, and can accommodate a wide variety of skill levels, even in the same class!

If I have an adventure touring bike, will this work for the course?

Absolutely. This is the most popular group of riders that come to our school. Even if you’ve ridden 1000’s of miles on the street and want to explore the possibility of riding off-road. Then this class is for you. We have had many students just like you, looking for a place to learn how to control their “beast of a bike” in off-road situations.
